When starting ZBA, VM gives a kernel error about requiring x86-64 CPU

Error Message
This error message appears when Zmanda Backup Appliance VM is started:
This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.
Error Description
Hardware virtualization is not enabled on the BIOS of the VMware server.
Solution
Please check the BIOS on your VMWare server and ensure that hardware virtualization is enabled such as Intel VT-x.
