What Are the Default Exclusions Available for Linux Sources?

Zmanda version 4.2 and higher introduces global exclusion support. This knowledge base article shows a default list of files and directories excluded from all Linux sources using the global exclusion policy.

Default Exclusions

The following directories are excluded by default from Linux sources.

/dev/*
/proc/*
/run/*
/sys/*
/tmp/*
/var/lock/*
/var/run/*
/var/spool/postfix/private/*
/var/spool/postfix/public/*
/var/tmp/*
/lost+found/*
/media/*
/mnt/*

Additional Exclusions

Users can exclude additional files or directories by editing the corresponding policy from the 'Policies' page in ZMC.

The 'Exclude Paths' field accepts regular expressions, and additional items can be entered as a new line in this field.

After making the edits, click the 'Update' button to enforce the policy.

You can also disable or enable the policy from the same page.
