Unable to proceed on Restore Where page: Fixing the disabled 'Next' button for VMware sources

Affected version/s:

Zmanda EBR 5.1.

Problem:

While restoring data from VMware sources in Zmanda EBR 5.1, you may encounter a situation where the Next button on the Restore Where page appears disabled. This issue typically occurs when you interact with any field within the target vCenter credentials section, even though providing these credentials is not mandatory for the restoration process.

Cause:

The underlying cause of this behavior is the validation mechanism applied to the target vCenter credentials fields. Although these fields are marked as optional, clicking any of them triggers validation checks. If the provided credentials are incorrect or incomplete, the validation fails, and the Next button remains disabled until the necessary information is entered correctly.

Solution:

To resolve this issue and resume the restore process, you have two options:

Option 1: Provide valid vCenter credentials:

  1. Enter the correct credentials for the target vCenter server in the designated fields.

  2. Ensure all required fields are filled with valid information.

  3. Click the Next button to proceed with the restore.

Option 2: Skip vCenter credentials:

  1. If you do not wish to provide vCenter credentials at this stage, return to the Restore What page.

  2. Navigate back to the Restore Where page. This action resets the validation state.

  3. The Next button should now be enabled, allowing you to proceed without vCenter credentials.
