      System state restoration in Windows causes Amanda service to hang

      Symptoms

      Amanda service (ZWCservice) fails to start after a system state restoration on Windows 2008 server, Vista and Windows 7.

      Troubleshooting Tips

      System State backups of Windows 2008 server, Vista and Windows 7 includes ZWCService.exe. If you restore these backups to original location on a machine that has newer version of Zmanda Windows Client, ZWCservice.exe from old backup image will fail to start (appear to hang).

      To recover from this scenario, reinstall Zmanda Windows Client after restoration from system state backup images.
