Issue Description:

When attempting to run the first backup using Backup Manager for a newly created storage vault; you encounter the following error:

Root Cause:

The error occurs because the storage vault requires initialization before it can be used for a backup. This initialization process is not performed when creating a new storage vault but happens with first backup operation triggered.

Solution:

To resolve this issue and initialize the storage vault, follow these steps:

  1. Create a dummy Protection Item (PI) of type “Files and Folders” including some dummy files with minimal data in it.
  2. Perform a backup of this dummy PI to the new storage vault.
  3. Once the dummy backup completes successfully, the storage vault will be initialized.
  4. You can now proceed with your intended backup manager’s first backup

Detailed Steps:

  1. Create a new Protected Item of Type `Files and Folders` (e.g. `Init Repo`):
    1. Include any small file under items tab of the Protected Item
    2. Save Protected Item configuration.
  2. Run a backup for the `Init Repo` Protected Item
  3. Wait for completion

After the Step 3. you can retry the backup of the intended protected item.

After successful initialization of the storage vault, you can remove the `Init Repo` protected item
