Restoration of Incremental Backups Fail to a Remote MySQL Server
This article is for Zmanda Recovery Manager For MySQL (ZRM)
Issue Symptoms
ZMC restore windows displays the following error message:
Could not copy bin log file <binary log file name>
Issue Description
The binary log file could not be parsed by the MySQL client commands installed on the ZRM server.
Resolution
MySQL client commands installed on the ZRM server must be compatible with the version of MySQL server being backed up. Zmanda recommends using the same version of MySQL clients and MySQL server if possible. MySQL client software on the ZRM server should be upgraded to match the MySQL server version.
