PostgreSQL configuration check and/or backup fails
This article is for Amanda Enterprise (AE)
Error Message
Following message appears during configuration check of PostgreSQL DLE:
Error IP address of the client: Get info from .backup file failed
Error Description
Amanda Enterprise Postgres Agent creates .backup file as part of Postgres archive command. This file is copied over to PG-ARCHIVEDIR directory during configuration check and backup. If the Amanda Postgres Agent is not found in the PG-ARCHIVEDIR directory, it fails with the error:
PG-ARCHIVEDIR is configured in the amanda-client.conf configuration file on the Amanda client.
Solution
Please make sure the directory configured as PG-ARCHIVEDIR has permissions for the Postgres Unix user to write to. The Postgres user should have read, write and execute permissions to this directory.
