This article is for Zmanda EBR versions 4.0, 5.0, and 5.1.
Problem:
The Monitor page incorrectly displays the message No DLE details to show as the backup run was aborted before any DLE was backed up. This message appears even for backup jobs that have been successfully completed.
Cause:
The problem originates from a discrepancy in the BackupDLERunState table, where data regarding backups may not be consistently recorded. This inconsistency occurs even in cases where backup jobs have been completed successfully. A potential underlying cause is a concurrency issue in the database operations, which results in the BackupDLERunState table not being promptly updated with DLE details despite the successful completion of backup jobs.
Solution:
Affected users should wait for Zmanda Management Console’s (ZMC) scheduled hourly job to update the monitored jobs and compile reports for the completed ones. This process should resolve any discrepancies in the BackupDLERunState table. Users should also ensure an active connection between ZMC and the backup server, as this is crucial for accurate data synchronization and reporting.
More Information:
-
The backup media table might also show missing entries until the report is synchronized.
-
Verify the regular running of ZMC's hourly job and the active status of the connection between ZMC and the backup server.
-
Monitor the BackupDLERunState table for potential delays or discrepancies in data entry, especially in environments where backups are frequent or involve large datasets.
