For Windows Users
You can access the server with the free tool WinSCP (available for installing or standalone executables). This is a ssh file client for Windows that will allow you to copy over the licensing file. It is similar to Total Commander or Norton Commander, if you are familiar with that, and has two windows, left and right, where a file can be copied from left to right or right to left.
When configuring WinSCP, you enter:
- hostname: [hostname of the appliance]
- username: root
- password: zmanda
Then you can connect and will be in the home directory of root, which is /root.
Navigate up, till you are in the / directory, which is like the C: directory on Windows. There, find the dir called /etc and change into that. There change into the zmanda dir and this is where the file needs to go. It might be necessary to adjust the permission of the file, you should be able to do this also in WinSCP.
For Linux Users
You can use Gftp, which also has a graphical user interface and is easy to use. Enter the same information as above, but select ssh2 in the protocol box.
