Could not run mtx binary at 'mtx'
This article tells you how to resolve the could not run mtx binary at 'mtx' error
This article is for Amanda Enterprise (AE).
Issue Symptoms
[Applied to Solaris systems]
On the Zmanda Management Console, when labeling a tape on the "Backup Media" page: Amlabel output: amlabel: could not load slot "1": Could not run mtx binary at 'mtx'
Issue Description
This issue is due to a missing "/usr/bin/mtx" executable file.
Resolution
- Check if the CSWmtx package is installed.
- Create a symbolic link at /usr/bin pointing to /opt/csw/sbin/mtx:
$ In -s /opt/csw/sbin/mtx /usr/bin/mtx
